Duke Anesthesiology Teach the Teachers: Focused Cardiac and Lung Ultrasound Workshop 2016

The purpose of this activity is to:

  1. Explain the indications and scope of practice of focused cardiac ultrasound in the care of critically ill patients.
  2. Explain the key questions when performing focused cardiac ultrasound.
  3. Explain how to evaluate each focused cardiac view to answer specific key questions.
  4. Practice interpreting focused cardiac ultrasound images.
  5. Practice obtaining the focused views on an ultrasound simulator and/or healthy volunteers.
  6. Provide a framework for understanding how to use lung ultrasound to help evaluate critically ill patients.
  7. Practice interpreting lung ultrasound images.

Learning Objectives

​At the end of this activity, the learners will be able to:
