The purpose of this activity is to:
- Explain the indications and scope of practice of focused cardiac ultrasound in the care of critically ill patients.
- Explain the key questions when performing focused cardiac ultrasound.
- Explain how to evaluate each focused cardiac view to answer specific key questions.
- Practice interpreting focused cardiac ultrasound images.
- Practice obtaining the focused views on an ultrasound simulator and/or healthy volunteers.
- Provide a framework for understanding how to use lung ultrasound to help evaluate critically ill patients.
- Practice interpreting lung ultrasound images.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, the learners will be able to:
