Welcome to the annual meeting of the Southeastern Fracture Symposium Jointly sponsored by the Duke University School of Medicine and the Southeastern Fracture Consortium. The conference chairs represent Duke University, Carolinas Medical Center, Georgia Institute of Orthopaedic Trauma, Medical University of South Carolina, Wake Forest University Healthcare, and University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine. The research consortium group is well recognized for its research endeavors through national conference presentations and publications.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Provide participant knowledge gaps and promote better post-conference results, optimal care, best outcomes and best practice for orthopaedic patients affected by traumatic injury through Self-Assessment Examination (SAE).
  2. Identify, recall and repeat successful outcomes of other experts in the field. Participants will learn appropriate care standards and relate this learning to practice improvement.
  3. Identify resources, arrange to set-up surgical procedures to support a treatment plan and construct necessary for management of an unusual injury pattern to support the goal for the orthopaedic trauma patient to have positive outcomes with fewer complications.
  4. Identify implants appropriate for trauma care management. Recognize tools of repair to support best orthopaedic case are. Practice utilization of implants to support orthopaedic trauma positive patient outcomes, return to maximum restorative potential.
  5. Describe the gap of misunderstandings and misinformation about research efforts and be able to design quality research projects that will address real provider of care concerns and real patient issues of care for best outcomes.
  6. Document according to federal regulations and support consistency in documentation within the institution.

Cancellations received in writing by Jan 20th, 2015 will receive a full refund minus an administrative charge of $50.   Cancellation requests received on or after January 21st will not be refunded. Duke University School of Medicine and Southeastern Fracture Consortium are not responsible for any travel or hotel costs included.
