Best of HCV from AASLD 2013

This activity was developed for gastroenterologists and hepatologists and other healthcare providers managing patients with hepatitis C virus infection. 
The purpose of this activity is to enhance the care of patients with hepatitis C.
 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
 
  • Identify the most important baseline characteristics to consider when assessing benefit/risk for each individual patient in order to make the best decision to treat with soon-to-be-approved HCV treatments or wait for interferon-free treatments.
     
  • Identify the next wave of treatment regimens likely to be approved and for which patient subtypes they have been studied.
     
  • Discuss the treatment regimens likely to be approved in the near/midterm and describe the patient populations for whom these regimens are likely to be approved.
