1st annual Tel-Aviv International Ultrasound-Guided Boutique Regional Anesthesia Symposium

October 21, 2018 to October 22, 2018

This two-day symposium and workshop will focus on ultrasound-guided techniques for performing peripheral nerve blocks of the upper and lower limbs, as well as truncal and fascial plane blocks.

Target Audience

This symposium is intended for anesthesiologists of all skill levels who wish to improve their skills at performing ultrasound-guided upper and lower limb peripheral nerve blocks, as well as fascial plane blocks (transversus abdominis plane (TAP), rectus sheath, quadratus lumborum (QL), pectoralis (PECS I & II, serratus plane block, and erector spinae plane (ESP) blocks). The workshop focuses on the effective and safe use of ultrasound guided blocks in surgical and acute pain patients and tips and tricks on the perioperative management of patients who undergo these blocks. This interactive workshop will feature small participant-to-instructor ratios and a customized curriculum focusing on developing hands-on skills. Each technique will be taught by expert instructors using dynamic multimedia presentations, live demonstrations, state of the art 3D virtual cadaver imaging and guided hands-on live model scanning.

Learning Objectives

1. Describe the basic means of orienting the transducer with relation to a target structure and methods by which to improve visualization

2. Identify important sonographic landmarks for each of the block techniques, including relevant bony, musculofascial and vascular anatomy

3. Demonstrate the correct ultrasound scanning sequence for each of the block techniques
