Controversies in Perioperative Medicine – 19th Annual Duke Anesthesiology Conference
This scientific conference will offer a comprehensive curriculum focused on surgery, anesthesia, and critical care. Over the course of five days, issues surrounding the management of patients undergoing surgery will be discussed via lectures, panel discussions, lively debates and hands-on practical workshops. Topics covered will include orthopedics, neuroanesthesia, cardiac anesthesia, echocardiography, general/vascular/transplant anesthesia, critical care, and healthcare education all within a setting of healthcare reform and patient centered outcomes. Participants can familiarize themselves with new equipment and techniques in both plenary sessions and small group workshops. Additionally, this meeting will feature a simulation session for a more hands-on experience. With the continued need for ongoing education and skills training in a safe environment, simulation has become a mainstay of medical training.
