Duke Heart Failure Symposium 2026: Leading Edge in Medical Management

The Duke Heart Failure Symposium is a one-day educational conference, and the overall purpose of this event is to discuss advances in heart failure care to enhance learners’ knowledge and competency to incorporate evidence-based updates in clinical practice.

Learning Objectives

Identifying advances in the management of patients with heart failure in the outpatient setting with utilization of ambulatory monitoring, wearable technologies, and electronic care systems. 

Recalling optimal timing for evaluation for advanced heart failure therapies and emerging evidence related to cardiac transplantation and durable mechanical circulatory support.

Applying patient-centered approaches in clinic design, education, and research conversations to improve engagement and outcomes in heart failure care.

 

Discussing the role of interventional, device management and remote patient monitoring in acute and chronic heart failure.

 

Discussing diagnostic and treatment strategies for cardiomyopathies, aiming to enhance early diagnosis and improve clinical outcomes for patients with cardiac sarcoid, amyloidosis and genetic cardiomyopathies.

 

Recognizing current treatment strategies for chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), including emerging pharmacologic therapies, updated treatment paradigms, and associated challenges.
