Vitaltalk Practice 1- Headlines and Empathy

This is a blended (combination asynchronous and in-person) version of the VitalTalk course, which addresses conversations with patients and family members around serious illness. Participants will first view the 30 min pre-recorded didactic. In this one hour follow up session, we will practice elements of the REMAP talking map including creating headlines as a tool for providing clear information and using NURSE as a tool for responding to emotion with empathy.

Learning Objectives

Providers will demonstrate improved communications skills around end-of-life care, serious illness, end-of-life planning, prognosis, and goals-of-care conversations.
