Racial and ethnic minorities experience higher rates of disease, disability, and death than do their white counterparts. With the growing racial and ethnic diversity of the population, addressing disparities in health has become a national priority.

 

Learning Objectives

1. Discuss the importance of health disparities research and its role in the elimination of racial and ethnic disparities
2. Highlight ongoing health disparities research across Duke University and Duke Medicine
3. Facilitate new research collaborations to address racial and ethnic health disparities.
