The purpose of the first hour of the course, “Neurology Update,” is to update physician assistants on recent advances in therapeutics and current treatments for common neurologic disorders. The purpose of the second hour of the course, “The New NCCPA Certificate Maintenance Process,” is to update PAs on new NCCPA certification requirements. The purpose of the third hour of the course, “DSM 5 Update,” is to update PAs on new DSM 5 criteria.

Neurology Update

Objective 1: Recognize key clinical features of common neurologic disorders
Objective 2: Describe evidence-based guidelines for management of common neurologic disorders
Objective 3: Discuss recent advances in therapeutics and emerging treatments for common neurologic disorders
The New NCCPA Certificate Maintenance Process

Objective 1: Describe the new 10-year Certification Maintenance Process and explain the rationale for these changes
Objective 2: List the new CME “credits”: performance improvement (PI) and self-assessment (SA) and give examples of how these may be obtained.
Objective 3: Show the NCCPA Dashboard and demonstrate how to navigate it throughout the 10-year cycle.
DSM 5 Update
