INCORPORATING A RACIAL EQUITY LENS THROUGH THE 5WS FRAMEWORK IN RESEARCH

In this 90-minute workshop, we will delve deep into the heart of racial equity and its vital connection to the research landscape. Participants will explore the concepts of race, racism, anti-racism, and racial equity and practical tools for promoting equity in their research, the workplace, classroom, and community. The presenters will introduce the 5Ws of Racial Equity in Research Framework and lead a deep dive into questions researchers and institutions should explore on their path to infusing equity in all phases of the research process and within research environments. Through the workshop, the participants will be better equipped with actionable strategies to actively advance racial equity. The workshop is ideal for faculty, research staff, trainees, students, and community researchers who seek to develop more equitable research.
