ONCOLOGY CARE IN THE ACUTE CARE SETTING FOR THE NON-ONCOLOGY NP/PA: ONCOLOGY ASSESSMENT & COMMON CONDITIONS (ENDURING)

  • Comprehensive assessment of the oncology patient is vital to identify common conditions associated with cancer and chemoradiation. We will thoroughly review assessment of an oncology patient, using a case study approach to put the entire picture together. Next we will discuss common conditions associated with cancer and treatment, including mucositis, radiation esophagitis, adrenal insufficiency, pneumonia, venous thromboembolism, intractable nausea and vomiting, intractable pain, and pancytopenia.
