Study Objective:
To determine whether a comprehensive evaluation and customized multilevel educational intervention will increase the rate of use of oral anticoagulation and adherence of use in patients with atrial fibrillation.
Specific Aims of the Study
- Determine if an educational intervention aimed at health systems, physicians and patients will increase the proportion of eligible patients who are treated with oral anticoagulation.
- Determine if an educational intervention aimed towards patients will increase patient adherence and persistence to oral anticoagulation for one year.
- Assess country specific perceptions, system challenges and barriers to the use of oral anticoagulants in patients with atrial fibrillation.
- Create a robust successful model that can be implemented in other practices and networks
