Objectives:
1) Explore classification criteria for idiopathic inflammatory myositis
 
2) Discuss how serologic data from studies of inflammatory myositis cohorts has increased our understanding of specific antibody phenotypes
 
3) Review myositis specific autoantibodies and 
their associated clinical phenotypes.
 
4) Recognize how the emerging understanding of novel autoantibodies in myositis has significant diagnostic and prognostic implications.
