Objectives: 

  1. Understand the basics about the tumor microenvironment, immunosurveillance and immune checkpoint blockade
  2. Understand the definition of immune related adverse events and the most common systems affected
  3. Know the most common rheumatic immune related adverse events 
  4. Learn the main classifications of patients referred to the Duke rheum-oncology clinic
  5. Become familiar with the existing literature regarding patients who experience immune related adverse events, autoantibodies, and cancer related outcomes
  6. Learn the approach to take with patients who have pre-existing autoimmune disease who have advanced cancer in need of immune checkpoint blockade
