TOBACCO DEPENDENCE PHARMACOTHERAPY FOR CLINICIANS
The course is designed for clinicians (medication prescribers) or practicing Tobacco Treatment Specialists who would like a deeper and more practical understanding of tobacco use medications. The course provided a review of the neurobiology of tobacco dependence and mechanistic understanding of medications and then uses case-based learning to explore individualized medication treatment. This course provides more advanced training in tobacco dependence pharmacotherapy than is provided in general courses for Tobacco Treatment Specialists.

Learning Objectives
To provide comprehensive evidence-based instruction for medication treatment of tobacco use in patients with severe nicotine dependence, cue-based smoking, depression, anxiety, bipolar dx, schizophrenia, low motivation, cognitive impairment, renal failure, comorbid alcohol and drug abuse, hospital, outpatient, and perioperative settings.
