POINT-OF-CARE ULTRASOUND (POCUS) WORKSHOP 2025
March 20, 2025
- This two-day POCUS workshop is a unique hands-on experience to teach clinicians bedside applications of portable ultrasound. The workshop is offered as a flipped-classroom approach with didactics presented online prior to the in-person course. In-person course activities will include nine hours of supervised scanning time with standardized patients and one hour of group image interpretation of POCUS clips with varying pathology. In addition, courses will include three hours of optional instruction/simulation on thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, and vascular access. For anesthesiologists, this course can be used to fulfill two requirements of the ASA’s Diagnostic POCUS Certificate: Part 2 (12 hours of POCUS) and the supervised section of Part 4 (Log of Studies).
