Grief Support: Emphasis on the Clinician

March 19, 2026

Dr. Anthony Galanos presents a talk spotlighting clinician grief to address this overlooked topic, show how to support clinicians, and also show how to support colleagues and coworkers when sad events occur including the loss of family or poor outcomes with end of life medical care for patients and their families.

Learning Objectives

1. Identifying at least two grief risk factors specific to their discipline (e.g., CNAs—attachment intensity; providers—decision-related moral distress).

2. Applying a structured debrief framework in an interdisciplinary setting.

3. Demonstrating one coping technique tailored to their role (e.g., MSWs—reflective journaling; RNs—peer check-ins; chaplains—guided meaning-making).

4. Mapping referral pathways for grief support across disciplines.
