Learning Objectives

  1. Provide standardized perioperative care for patients undergoing total joint replacement
  2. Approach such patients with appropriate caution, and seek consultation from pediatric oncologists and radiologists, even for brief anesthetic procedures
  3. Reduce perioperative complications in sleep apnea patients, by using regional anesthesia; nonnarcotic analgesia; prolonged postoperative surveillance
