The rapidly evolving field of medicine demands that its leaders excel not only in patient and physician advocacy but also in the complex management settings that now dominate healthcare. The Physician Leadership Academy (PLA) provides leaders in organized medicine and their staff with the knowledge and skills essential to bridge advocacy and management and become skillful and effective leaders.

Learning Objectives

  • Expand knowledge of personal leadership strengths and weaknesses through discussion, case studies and teamwork exercises
  • Identify and develop management and executive skills to be an influential leader in organized medicine
  • Identify the administrative and logistical issues related to the management of people and organizations, including managing in a rapidly changing environment
  • Interact with other leaders in medicine and brainstorm around common ideas and areas of mutual interest
