2016 Duke Cancer Review

The purpose of this course is to enable the interdisciplinary team to receive updates in the management of cancer patients by highlighting key abstracts presented at the national American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting and provide highlights on the multidisciplinary management of Head & Neck, Thoracic and Brain Tumors.

Learning Objectives

Discuss current guidelines for the diagnosis and management of common cancers in order to provide optimal care to oncology patients.
Describe advances in molecular medicine.
Describe novel surgical approaches to cancer, highlighting pancreatic and endocrine surgeries.
Identify the need for multidisciplinary approaches in the management of head and neck, thoracic, and brain cancers.
Describe the role of immunotherapy and targeted therapies in the management of head and neck, thoracic, and brain cancers.
Discuss advances in surgical techniques for the management of head and neck, thoracic, and brain cancers.
