The overall goal of the activities of this continuing education (CE) program is to enhance learners’ knowledge and competency in the evaluation and treatment of patients with advanced heart failure.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review and discuss best practices for acute heart failure therapy, including acute treatment and preventing rehospitalization
- Delineate the best practices for when to refer advanced heart failure patients for evaluation for heart transplant or mechanical cardiac support
- Understand the possible role of new emerging drugs for chronic heart failure
- Understand how new developments in genetics and cardio-oncology impact heart failure management
- Describe the current state of the art mechanical cardiac support for advanced heart failure
- Understand the interaction of heart failure with comorbidities such as diabetes, pulmonary hypertension, and valvular heart disease
