Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the incidence of nerve injury and the factors that predispose to injury during peripheral nerve blockade
- Describe the anatomical ultrastructure of peripheral nerves and discuss its importance to prevention of nerve injury during peripheral nerve block procedures
- Evaluate the utility of various monitoring technologies to prevent injury to nerves during nerve block procedures
