2023 AHA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
The American Hospital Association (AHA) will host the 30th Annual AHA Leadership Summit, July 16 - 18, 2022, at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. The AHA Leadership Summit is the ‘field leadership’ conference of the AHA and is designed to support hospitals and health systems in advancing and accelerating transformation strategies that map to the AHA strategic plan. The conference features senior health care executives, clinicians and experts in the field presenting innovative approaches for delivering better care and greater value, ensuring financial stability, addressing workforce challenges and improving the health care consumer experience through operational excellence, creative partnerships and redefined delivery models. The following objectives for the 2023 AHA Leadership Summit will drive its design and delivery: - Accelerate health care transformation by facilitating knowledge exchange and incorporating experiential learning opportunities. - Advance hospital and health system awareness of and performance on AHA strategic priorities. The following topical areas have been recognized as strategic priorities for the AHA and will drive the development of the curriculum. The program content will be organized into the following Transformation Tracks. Attention to these content themes will occur in a variety of session formats across the Summit. Financial Stability: Operating Excellence in Turbulent Times It’s the People: Overcoming Workforce Challenges to Build Resilient, High-Performing Teams Value-Based Today: Improving Outcomes, Managing Risk Patient Centricity: Driving Consumer Experience through Digital Transformation Ignite Transformation: Emerging Approaches to Health Care Strategy and Delivery In addition to content within these tracks, the curriculum will also emphasize the following issue areas: Elevating Health Equity and Eliminating Disparities Improving Behavioral Health, Including Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorder Achieving Governance Excellence The conference design will deliver rich content and in-depth case studies from leading hospitals and health systems organized around the critical priorities that drive the work of the AHA. The session formats include keynotes, panels offering diverse perspectives, in-depth case studies, interactive roundtables and deep-dive workshops. Sessions are structured in varying lengths and formats to permit intensive focus, peer-to-peer sharing and experiential learning on emerging topics.

- Understanding how a patient-centric digital strategy enhances organizational long-term growth.
- Identifying alternative strategies to deal with workforce challenges
- Understanding the landscape of integrating community mental healthcare agencies and acute care healthcare systems and better understand the achievable improvements and benefits of the integration effort.
