2nd Annual Duke Heart General Cardiology Update

August 11, 2018

In order to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease and its negative implications for the health of patients and our health care system, physicians must be aware of and understand new evidence as rapidly as possible and we must facilitate the adoption of practice guidelines by physicians and other health care providers responsible for the cardiovascular care of patients. Primary care physicians are on the front lines of patient care and must keep abreast of new developments and understand the recommendations to apply them effectively in their medical practice. Thus, there is an educational need to present cutting-edge research clearly and concisely so that providers may make informed changes to their medical practice with confidence. This program will highlight various therapeutic agents, technologies, diagnostic procedures, and means of evaluating patients for appropriate treatment in order to improve patient outcomes. The overall goal of this program is to present a balanced perspective to common clinical problems in a clear and concise manner so that providers may make informed changes to their medical practice with confidence.
