Addressing Youth Tobacco Use in Healthcare, School, and Community Settings (Onsite)

This course provides an overview of youth tobacco use, focusing on the characteristics and health impacts of commonly used tobacco and nicotine products. Learners will explore current trends, novel products, and the factors contributing to tobacco use among youth. The course also covers evidence-based strategies for treatment and prevention, including best practices for creating effective youth tobacco cessation programs, guidelines for counseling minor patients, and working with youth in school and community settings.

  • list key community-based resources for supporting youth and families in preventing tobacco use
  • share best practices for creating a youth tobacco cessation program and interventions for community and school prevention
