ADVANCING CLINICAL EXCELLENCE: EMBRACING PARTNERSHIPS, DIVERSITY, AND INNOVATION IN NURSING CLINICAL EDUCATION

This virtual conference highlights recent and ongoing studies, projects, and initiatives that address strategies for incorporating simulation in competency-based education; fostering collaborative practice and partnerships in clinical education; diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical education; and advancing LGBTQ+ inclusivity in clinical education and care delivery. Presentations apply to educators of entry-level and/or advanced-level nursing students and align with one or more of the following: partnership building, clinical teaching, clinical evaluation.

Learning Objectives

  • Foster collaborative partnerships for interprofessional education that support addressing social determinants of health and diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare.
  • Establish community partnerships to reduce health inequities and increase access to care in rural and urban settings.
  • Promote effective communication and respect among interprofessional teams and community partners.
  • Advance nursing care models aligned with Just Culture, social determinants of health, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Incorporate social determinants of health and diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical teaching in interprofessional environments.
  • Facilitate learner reflection on clinical experiences through the lens of social determinants of health and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Evaluate learners’ integration of social determinants of health and diversity, equity, and inclusion in the clinical setting.
  • Incorporate simulation, clinical judgment, and competency-based education in interprofessional clinical education.
