This continuing education presentation will be directed towards clinical pharmacists at Duke Regional Hospital. The purpose of the presentation will be to discuss antiepileptic drug dosing and pharmacokinetic principles. The objectives are: 1. Identify the various classes of antiepileptic drugs (AED), their indications, and medication-specific clinical pearls 2. Describe the specific dosing strategies and dosing adjustments for common AEDs 3. Discuss the pharmacokinetic principles, including evaluation and monitoring of levels, of common AEDs 4. Evaluate toxicities and adverse effects of common AEDs
