ASSESSING AND ADDRESSING MENTAL HEALTH IN PEDIATRIC RHEUMATOLOGY

May 19, 2023
  • We plan to host four 2-hour virtual (Zoom) workshops for pediatric rheumatology fellows nationwide. The goal will be for all fellows to attend *one* of the four workshops (with each workshop being the same). The workshops will be co-facilitated by a pediatric rheumatologist and either a child and adolescent psychiatrist (CAP) or a child psychologist. The workshop will teach how to screen for anxiety and depression in a pediatric rheumatology setting, how to screen for suicidality, and when and how to access behavioral health resources. We will encourage fellows to have one faculty member from their institution join them in attending one of the sessions -- we would like to offer CME as an incentive for the faculty to attend.
