Baby on Board: Anesthetic Management for the Pregnant Patient

This presentation is aimed at reviewing literature and guidelines regarding non-obstetric surgery during pregnancy and addressing frequently asked questions when encountering a pregnant patient: Is this drug teratogenic? I usually do this under sedation, but is that appropriate now? Can I give sugammadex? I usually do this under sedation, but is that appropriate now? Can I give sugammadex? Should I be monitoring the baby? Jennifer Mehdiratta is an Obstetric Anesthesiologist in the Division of Women's Anesthesia and will address some of these common questions.
