The Breast Cancer Continuum For The Community Provider

This educational program is designed to promote multidisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration between oncology and primary care health care providers to promote optimal care of the patient with cancer. With a focus on breast cancer, expert speakers will guide participants through updates in the surgical management of the axilla, the application of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer, and the role of post surgical rehabilitation.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the historical management of the axilla for breast cancer and understand the rationale for reducing the extent of axillary surgery.
- Identify areas in which axillary surgery may be reduced.
- Examine the evolving roleof Neoadjuvant therapy in the care of the patient with breast cancer.
- Discuss the current treatment techniques and the benefits of exercise in the patient with breast cancer.
