CANCER BASICS I-IV: PART IV
- Cancer Basics is a 4-part introductory course for nurses or advanced practitioners who are new to oncology care. Other health care providers or pharmacists who want to enhance their knowledge of oncology care may also benefit from the course. This course provides the fundamentals of practice including pathophysiology of cancer, risk factors, incidence, diagnosis and management of common cancers, nursing management of cancer and cancer therapy side effects, oncologic emergencies, safe handling of chemotherapy, pain management and the psychosocial care of the cancer patient. Content covers cancer prevention through survivorship.
