Community-Informed Policy & Research Strategies for Latine Health Equity

In support of improving patient care, Duke University Health System Clinical Education and Professional Development is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), to provide continuing education for the health care team. The designation was based upon the quality of the educational activity and its compliance with the standards and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

      • Describing the Levels of Racism Framework and its application to Latinx perspectives on barriers to health and wellbeing.
      • Analyzing how systemic racism impacts the Latinx population's access to healthcare and overall health outcomes.
      • Explaining the role of Latinx community health workers as navigators in clinical research and healthcare systems.
      • Evaluating  the training methodologies and challenges faced by community health workers in promoting health equity.
      • Identifying the key strategies used by multi-stakeholder coalitions to promote Latinx health equity.
      • Discussing the lessons learned from community-engaged policy and practice reforms aimed at improving health outcomes for the Latinx community in North Carolina.
      • Assessing the perspectives of Latinx community health workers and community-based organization leaders on systemic racism during the COVID-19 pandemic.
      • Investigating the long-term effects of the pandemic on Latinx population health and strategies to mitigate these impacts.
      • Exploring the implications of heterogeneity among Latine/x/o/a, Hispanic, and Spanish origin people for healthcare delivery and policy.
      • Discussing the importance of recognizing and addressing diversity within the Latinx community to improve health equity and outcomes.
