DICON/DASON Fall 2017 Educational Symposium
The DICON/DASON Fall 2017 Educational Symposium will bring together infection preventionists/hospital epidemiologists, antimicrobial stewardship personnel and hospital leadership from DICON/DASON hospitals to focus on current trends, current threats, and future solutions in healthcare epidemiology.
Target Audience
Physicians, PAs/NPs, Pharmacists, Nurses/Infection Preventionists, Laboratory Technologists/Microbiologists, Hospital Administrators and Allied Health Professionals involved in infection prevention, hospital epidemiology and/or antimicrobial stewardship activities.
Learning Objectives
Identify ways in which infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship programs can effectively develop interventions based on data such as infection rates, antimicrobial use, and antimicrobial resistance in their hospital.
Discuss and describe recent developments in regulations pertaining to infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship in acute care hospitals in the US, and how hospitals can meet/exceed these standards.
Compare and contrast different approaches for approaching challenges to achieve success for infection prevention and stewardship program activities
