Doing What's Right: Integrating Nursing's Code of Ethics into YOUR Professional Practice

February 8, 2019

The Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (The Code) was developed as a guide for carrying out nursing responsibilities in a manner consistent with quality in nursing care and the ethical obligations of the profession. As patient care becomes more complex for the bedside nurse, more ethical issues also arise. This interactive program including group activities, role play and discussion will prepare nurses to anticipate, recognize and address ethical problems in their day to day practice by developing an understanding of the history and key elements of the Code Of Ethics for Nurses and the continuum of ethical awareness, ethical sensitivity, moral reasoning, moral agency and moral actions and learn how to integrate all of these concepts into a "novice to expert" model in nursing.
