DRH Pharmacy Residency Advisory Committee Preceptor Retreat

DRH Residency Advisory Committee (RAC) is the group of pharmacists involved in training our 3 pharmacy residents annually. This program will be conducted over 1 afternoon to discuss topics relevant to preceptor and residency program development. Topics we will touch on include: 2025 ASHP National Pharmacy Preceptors Conference Pearls and Application, updating the academic professional record (APR), and Optimizing Resident Growth Through Effective Feedback in PharmAcademic.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify three innovative precepting strategies or educational trends presented at the 2025 ASHP National Pharmacy Preceptors Conference that can enhance learner engagement in our programs.
  • Design a plan to incorporate at least one conference takeaway into our current precepting practice to improve teaching effectiveness and resident learning outcomes.
  • Differentiate between formative and summative feedback within the PharmAcademic platform and articulate how each supports resident development
  • Apply specific techniques for providing actionable, timely, and competency-based feedback in PharmAcademic that align with ASHP goals and residency milestones.
  • Describe the purpose and key components of the Annual Program Review (APR) process in the context of PGY1 and PGY2 Internal Medicine residency programs
