Duke Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences Alumni Conference

June 22, 2018

As we come together as the Duke Head and Neck Surgery & Communication Sciences family we are reminded of the experiences, values and aspirations that bind us. This is the place where hopes have been realized and productive careers born. As a learning community committed to advancing practice and the development of new leaders, HNSCS is an asset to the larger Duke community and our global impact is realized through the work of our alumni, faculty and trainees. We again convene to celebrate our graduates, to engage in the practice of life-long learning and to enjoy each other’s company. We also honor those teachers and leaders whose legacies live on in the learning community that they helped to create. This program showcases this legacy and our on-going collaboration as faculty, alumni and trainees in growing Duke’s impact on Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Audiology and Speech and Language Pathology.  As we prepare to send forth Drs. Matt Crowson, Adam Honeybrook and Sean Johnson as our newest graduates while also welcoming our newly matched residents, I am pleased to welcome Dr. Sujana Chandrasekhar as the 2018 William Hudson Lecturer, and Dr. James Saunders as the 2018 Duke Otolaryngology Alumnus Speaker. Dr. Chandrasekhar is a neurotologist and past president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Saunders is also a neurotologist whose work in global health has advanced hearing health services in many low-resource areas of the world.
