Duke Quality System Academy (Training Session 2)
The intent of this education course is to provide training on the Duke Quality System and teach learners how to approach and solve problems. There are four learning sessions where learners will learn and apply process improvement tools, and work in a team to complete a real process improvement. Learners will collaborate on improvement projects that will have a direct impact on work within the Duke University Hospital Operations. There will be 4 in person training sessions where learners will learn about various elements of the problem-solving process and have time to work on the application projects. There will also be 3 short virtual meetings where learners will check in on the progress of the improvement work and learn from each other. In the final session, learners will share their completed projects based on the improvement skills they have learned through the Improvement Academy course. The course will prepare attendees to meet organizational needs using the Duke Quality System, Advance the understanding and diffusion of DQS at all levels of the organization, Frame how participants think about and approach problems, Support the development and adoption of a Lean leadership style, and Foster a spirit of continuous learning
