Duke Transplant Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Bootcamp 2019

Program designed to educate providers on solid organ transplantation and the perioperative management of transplant patients and to discuss important concepts in the transplant community.

Target Audience

Advanced practice providers involved in the management of solid organ transplant patients.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Promote and provide clinical education for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the field of Solid Organ Transplantation
  • Improve procedural skills useful in the perioperative management of Solid Organ Transplant patients
  • Enhance knowledge of the following topics: pre- and post- operative care of solid organ transplant patients, multiple organ transplantation, immunology immunosuppression, rejection, and infectious diseases
  • Discuss "hot topics" in the transplant community, including: hepatitis C + donor organs, Liver OrganOx normothermic perfusion pump, abdominal wall transplants hand transplants, and HOPE act organs
