In support of improving patient care, Duke’s Division of Urologic Surgery offers opportunities for education and professional development to the entire health care team through a variety of conferences and symposiums at Duke and around the world. "Duke Tuesday in Urology" addresses current therapies, treatments, and technologies through didactic lectures, supplemented with video surgical presentations, interactive panel discussions, and case presentations presented by Duke Faculty as well as nationally recognized Guest Lecturers.

Learning Objectives
- Incorporate surgical options for patients with the need for urinary diversion for non-cancer indications into clinical practice
- Appreciate the safe and effective use of oral anticoagulants (AC) and antiplatelets (AP) prophylaxis and the risks associated with their withdrawal
- Examine the peri-procedural management of AC/AP considering both the regional and systemic complications of significant bleeding against significant thromboembolic phenomenon in a multidisciplinary fashion
- Understand the data supporting systemic therapy following or prior to surgery in patients with locally advanced or metastatic RCC.
- Describe the advantages and disadvantages of the three commonly utilized types of urinary diversion (ileal conduit, orthotopic neobladder, continent cutaneous diversion)
- List the absolute and relative contraindications for continent diversion in bladder cancer patients
- Describe the key steps in construction of an ileal orthotopic neobladder with the preparatory steps to improve continence
- Manage most common diversion-related complications of urinary diversion, including urine leak, parastomal hernia, ureteroileal stricture, and incontinence.
