Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation

  • This program increases pediatric clinicians’ comfort with assessing, diagnosing, and treating early childhood behavioral and mental health concerns. It is presented in a three-month case-based distance-learning program. Learners participate in a 2-hour seminar to learn the foundations of early childhood mental health assessment and treatment. The course is lead by child/adolescent psychiatry and psychology experts to learn how to support early childhood relational, social-emotional, and developmental challenges encountered in daily practice.

  • Understanding common behavioral and mental health concerns in early childhood
  • Applying the SetUp model to assess and support early childhood behavioral and mental health concerns in primary care.
  • Learning basic medical prescribing principles for young children.
