The Emerging Role of B-Blockers for the Treatment of Acute and Chronic Pain
B- adrenergic receptors are known to be implicated in the development and transmission of nociceptive stimuli. Antagonism of the B-AE through both selective and non-selective B- blockers has shown utility in preventing and alleviationg chronic and acute pain. B-Blockers therefore represent an emerging class of drugs for the treatment of surgical and functional pain
