Finding Our Rhythm: A Journey Through Generations of Nursing
“Finding Our Rhythm: A Journey Through Generations of Nursing” introduces participants to the generational history that has defined nursing’s culture, identity, and evolution. This session aims to provide a fundamental understanding of the cultural, historical, societal, and social factors that have influenced each generation of nurses. It builds awareness of how the four active generations—Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z—in today’s nursing workforce each bring distinct values, behaviors, and expectations to the profession. Older generations, the Greatest and the Silent Generation, will be reviewed for their historical significance, emphasizing their impact on nursing standards and traditions. Moreover, this session will introduce Generation Alpha, encouraging participants to consider how nursing can prepare for this next generation of tech-savvy professionals.
