The Prelicensure Nursing Clinical Instructor Orientation aims to equip new instructors with the essential tools and knowledge to effectively mentor and support nursing students in clinical settings. The session will begin by outlining the clinical instructor's role and expectations, including professional responsibilities, supervision, and adherence to program guidelines. Instructors will be introduced to the course structure, learning objectives, andhow clinical experiences align with the prelicensure nursing curriculum to bridge theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. This is a private course; this course is not taking additional attendees. A key focus of the orientation will be on clinical teaching strategies,such as conducting pre- and post-conferences, bedside teaching, and providing real-time coaching during patient care. Instructors will also learn methods to foster critical thinking,clinical reasoning, and decision-making skills in students. To ensure accurate and fair evaluation of student performance, the session will cover assessment methods, grading rubrics, and how to provide constructive feedback. Additionally, instructors will be guided on addressing students who may struggle to meet clinical expectations.
