GENERAL PRINCIPLES FOR APPROPRIATE INPATIENT ANTIBIOTIC REGIMENS 3

Continuing Education presentation on the management of antibiotic therapy in the inpatient setting. This presentation will last approximately 1-hour and will meet 4 audience objectives. Event date/times, as follows: 9/27/22 from 1:00-2:00 PM and 10/5/22 from 2:00-3:00 PM (same session repeated twice).

Learning Objectives

1. Differentiate between the gram staining and classification of common pathogens.

2. Identify antibiotic agents that appropriately cover the common resistant pathogens encountered in the inpatient setting.

3. Describe inpatient antibiotic treatment principles for the following sites of infection: urinary tract, respiratory tract, intra-abdominal, skin/soft-tissue, and bone/joint.

4. Apply the appropriate management of antibiotics to clinical practice cases.
