The Importance of Maintaining Professional Boundaries in Hospice Care

Understanding the professional boundaries that exist between patient, family and health care providers is always important. In end of life care, during which there can be heightened emotions, crisis, intimate conversations, it is critical that the health care provider have a comprehensive understanding of the role of professional boundaries in order to provide the best care, and to aid in their own resilience. This session will provide foundational information about the role of boundaries in any professional relationship, specifically in end of life care in a variety of settings. We will also discuss case studies and examples to allow for real life learning and expression.
