IMPROVING PROFICIENCY WITH ITEM WRITING AND EXAM CREATION - Enduring

The purpose of this session is to connect clinical knowledge and skills with didactic content covered in the classroom for the purpose of creating a reliable and valid test to evaluate student learning. A discussion of useful item analysis data accrued in testing software applications, including the use of a systematic plan for analysis of results from teacher-made testing and standardized exam administrations, will be provided. Testing strategies practiced will reflect current clinical practice through blueprinting, promoting validity through writing and editing of test items at the application-and-above level on the cognitive taxonomy.
