Inclusive Teaching Strategies Workshop: Part 1

Participants will explore the importance of structure in classrooms and learn practical strategies for creating an inclusive learning environment. Participants will also engage in group activities, case studies, and develop and discuss action plans for implementing inclusive teaching practices.

Learning Objectives
- Identifying the inequities that arise due to a lack of structure in classrooms and providing examples of how to increase structure.
- Distinguishing between student deficit thinking and course deficit thinking, and practice adding structure to classroom strategies to bringing equity.
- Articulating improvements that can be made to help more students by analyzing specific short scenarios in group activities.
- Developing an action plan for implementing inclusive strategies in one's teaching practices.
