INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP ON EMOTIONALLY FOCUSED THERAPY
Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) is an Empirically Supported Treatment for relationship distress in adult romantic couples which is part of broader system of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) whose modalities also include Family Therapy between children of all ages and their caregivers (EFFT), and Individual Therapy for adult patients (EFIT). Despite the recent and growing popularity of this model of psychotherapy, EFCT in particular, many practitioners are not exposed to these clinical concepts and skills unless they seek out institute level post-graduate training from the International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). This 6-hour workshop will give participants an overview of the model’s fundamentals, with a particular emphasis on its application with couples (EFCT) and adult individuals (EFIT).
