Lipid Management and CT Coronary Calcium Screening

Program Description: Duke Virtual Primary Care Grand Rounds Sessions - Held on the fourth Wednesday of each month, the Duke Virtual Primary Care Grand Rounds aims to offer in-depth insights into advancements across various medical specialties. These sessions are designed to support physicians in primary and urgent care settings by enhancing their knowledge and proficiency in a wide range of clinical topics.

  • Identifying patients who may benefit from lipid lowering therapies for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease
  • Discussing   lipid treatment goals as proposed by recent AHA/ACC and ESC lipid guidelines
  • Understanding the role of CT coronary artery calcium scoring in reclassifying ASCVD risk for primary prevention patients
  • Reviewing statin and non-statin treatment options currently available to our patients
