MINDFULNESS TRAINING FOR SMOKERS TEACHER TRAINING - 9/10

This course is designed for healthcare professionals providing support to patients currently using tobacco, and trains facilitators to lead the Mindfulness Training for Smokers, an effective and evidence-based 8-week group intervention.

Learning Objectives

1. Students will state the importance of behavioral support to improve patient outcomes in tobacco treatment programs

2. Students will recognize the research and empirical support for using mindfulness training as part of tobacco treatment

3. Students will demonstrate understanding of the Mindfulness Training for Smokers group intervention, and how to administer this intervention in their setting

4. Students will describe group dynamics and how to run a successful tobacco treatment group
